Kindergarten printed these adorable caterpillars using small balloons and tempera paint. Then they made food for their hungry caterpillars using colored paper and hole punchers. Kindergarten also created these beautiful butterflies. First we drew half of a butterfly with black paint. Then we folded the paper in half to print the other side of the butterfly so it would be symmetrical. After they dried, we painted the butterflies using a warm/cool color theme. They did an excellent job!

1st grade created these animal prints after studying Picasso's style of cubism. First, they made an animal out of foam geometric shapes. Then we rolled tempera paint over the animals and printed them onto white paper. Finally, we added a border of shapes using crayons.
These detailed jungle scenes were created by kindergartners after they studied the work of Henri Rousseau, We used oil pastels and tempera paint to bring the animals to life!
